TESTING DATES

Upon scheduling a test date this posting will be updated and applicants who have been determined to have met the minimum qualifications as outlined below and who have submitted the requested documentation will be sent and invitation to test along with additional documentation.

Applicants must pass both the agility and written exam to be scheduled for an Oral Board

AGILITY EXAM ALL applicants will be required to undergo an agility exam.  Upon receiving an invitation to test you will be sent a course map.  It is recommended you focus on cardio when preparing for this exam.  You must pass the agility course to advance to the written exam.
WRITTEN EXAM Only applicants who advance past the agility course will be invited to participated in the written exam.  This is a twelfth grade equivalency test proctored by Tulsa Technology Center.  There are four parts of the exam to include: reading and comprehension; spelling and grammar; basic mathematics without using a calculator; and mathematics using a calculator.  Any participant who does not follow the proctors instructions will be immediately disqualified.  
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION

Candidates who advance to the Oral Board will be required to complete a Background Investigation Questionnaire (BIQ).  To assist you in completing this information, it is recommended you obtain and secure the following information:

  • Driver License
  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Transcripts and/or DD214
  • Marriage License (If Applicable)
  • Divorce Decree (If Applicable)
  • Color Photograph (Passport Photo)

 

POSITION DETAILS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 21 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED
  • One of the following
    • 64 credit hour or an Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited college
    • 2 years full-time active years with a branch of the military
    • YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT OR DD214 TO BE SENT A TESTING INVITATION
  • Ability to pass:
    • Written examination
    • Physical agility test
    • Intensive background investigation
    • MMPI psychological examination
    • Physical/medical examination as set forth by the Oklahoma Police Pension Board
    • Drug Screening
    • Identity requirements as set forth by federal law
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Anyone hired who is not CLEET certified must, within 90 days of hire, pass the CLEET written examination and physical abilities test with a minimum score of 70% to be eligible to enter the CLEET Academy and to be retired as a Police Officer by the City of Sand Springs.
